Today we are driving to Newman. Our adventure began on Sunday afternoon, arriving on our first night at Dalwalinu - a gravel caravan park but fancy new shower block (courtesy of the economic stimulus plan), with hot showers. Sophie is happy :)
Monday we made our way to Meekatharra through Mount Magnet, a small sleepy town with no one in the streets. On Monday night we camped at a place called Bilyuin Pool about fifteen kms off the highway. It's a campsite on the dry Murchison River bed, one of many semi permanent water holes. The ground was flat and stoney and we set up camp and lit a warm cosy campfire under the black velvet, star strewn sky. It was a very cold night but we warmed up by the fire before zipping down the tent.
Now we are in Newman and planning on camping at Kalgan pool just north of Newman. We'll put up the photos when we work out how to upload them.
